Story

St .Mary,s Primary Aiming Higher in Malawi

After receiving the sad news that our dear friend Chimwemwe Charles (aged 4 yrs.) has passed away, St. Mary's Primary has decided to increase our efforts to support the remaining 400 disabled children in The Aiming Higher in Malawi Charity.

Chimwemwe, pictured with his sister Stella , aged 10 yrs., was the first child selected for sponsorship by the St Mary`s Children, as part of the Malawi Disabled Children Project, and as his name translates to Happy in English we are going to hold our first ever Happy Day. Every St .Mary's pupil will contribute £2 each to participate in our first ever “Happy Day” and they will enjoy events, such as a Ninja Warrior, climbing wall and other health related activities. Running alongside this our Primary 7s have organised Miles to Malawi- a sponsored cycle event, where staff and pupils are using exercise bikes to cycle the length of Malawi.

If you would like to support the Malawi Disabled Children Project please make a donation via our Just Giving page. Every single penny will go to the children and their families, with no admin costs or expenses being taken.
