London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

Our mission to end educational inequality drives everything we do. We seek, develop and support teachers and leaders who are determined to make a difference where it's needed most. We're fighting to make our education system work for every child.

Story

Make your donation count twice as much.

On Sunday 28 April 2019, Malcolm Butler will be tackling the 26.2mi London Marathon for Teach First, for the second time. Whilst Malcolm pounds the pavement, every pound raised will be matched up to £10,000. Please help Teach First to make the most of this incredible opportunity to raise £20,000, by donating what you can, knowing that whatever you give will go twice as far (and will have twice the impact!).

Why Teach First?

Millions of British children live in poverty, and it's the children with the least who miss out the most. A child in one of the most deprived areas is eight times more likely to attend a secondary school rated inadequate than a in child in one of the least deprived areas.

Teach First's vision is a country where no child's educational success is limited by their background - where every child, wherever they live, whatever the wealth of their parents, has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Teach First believe a great teacher can change a child's future. In their mission to transform education with great teachers and leaders, they:

  1. Recruit and train inspirational teachers and place them in schools serving the most disadvantaged communities.
  2. Support school leaders to create the kind of schools in which teachers and pupils can thrive.
  3. Ensure schools are supported by a strong community and positive government policy

On average, nine children in every class are growing up in poverty. A great education could change their lives, forever.
