We want to rewild Britain to help people and nature flourish together
Story
Rewilding Britain's aim is to reinstate natural processes and reintroduce missing species in Britain. Rewilding is a journey as much as a destination. It's about seeing things differently and taking a new approach to nature and our place in the midst of it. The organisation is working to encourage collaboration and connections, as well as catalyse practical work on the ground.
The Rewilding Britain mini manifesto:
Reverse the loss of biodiversity in large core areas of land and sea
Reintroduce key missing species, including the lynx and wolf
Restore ecosystems to a functional and resilient state
Reignite people’s passion for the natural world
Revitalise local economies in ways that work ecologically
Reintegrate nature and society for the benefit of both
Our aim is the mass restoration of ecosystems in Britain. We want to reverse the decline in nature so that living systems and our sense of wonder can thrive. Rewilding offers hope for wildlife, for humanity, for the planet. It’s our opportunity to leave the world in a better state than it is today.
