Vaheguru Ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh - Khalsa belongs to Vaheguru Victory belongs to Vaheguru

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am 17 years of age and will competing in my first ever endurance obstacle race Spartan Beast which is a half marathon off road over hills, through water etc and with over 30 extreme obstacles to complete. My Coach Dippa Jutte who has been with me from the beginning of this journey will also be with me and has completed Spartan Beast before. We are hoping to continue this journey competing in other endurance races the following year or so.

I am hoping to raise money in memory off / for a painting of Jaswant Singh Khalra, (https://artofpunjab.com/product/jaswant-singh-khalra-art/) to be placed at our local Gurdwara and also raise money for Pingalwara charity a grass roots charity working in Panjab with the poor and forgotten children https://www.pingalwara.org.uk/. The money will be collected by Gravesend Gurdwara and then used and given to our project / charity.

Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist who sacrificed his life in order to uncover the truth off a hidden Genocide, mass illegal burial sites in the aftermath of 1984. He went abroad to the UK and Canada to show his findings and was warned not to return to India. One of his last speeches showed his fearlessness and bravery "I challenge the Darkness. If nothing else, then at least around myself, I will not let it settle. Around myself I will establish light.” – Jaswant Singh Khalra. He established that light through his work which Ensaaf (https://ensaaf.org/programs/documentation/) still continues today.

We want our future generations to remember his sacrifices and all those that lost there lives in the Genocide from 1984 onwards. At the same time those who committed these crimes continue to roam free and with still no justice to date. Even today human rights and Environmental rights activists across the world continue to suffer with unlawful arrests, torture and death. Activism is ingrained in the Sikh both physically and mentally. Whether that is speaking up against the injustices in Palestine, Yemen, the Rohingya or showing solidarity with the refugees fleeing war, poverty etc.

Please support us so future generations can be inspired by activistism. The pain I my face during the endurance race will be nothing compared to the pain and suffering people across the world face every day.
