We are raising money for Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees. They are a local charity formed in 2017 originally to help support refugees from Syria resettling in the Sevenoaks district, as part what is now the UK Government's global UK Resettlement Scheme. Currently, they are helping refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine to resettle in our area.

Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees are a small and growing organisation, with about 100 active volunteers. They are currently helping to support the resettlement of 11 refugee families from Syria and Afghanistan in the Sevenoaks district area, and are now working directly with 50 Ukrainian families.

Having read the book 'The Journey' the children of Maple Class have gained a greater awareness of the challenges others face in life and how they, as individuals, can support causes and make a difference in our school community, local community and further afield.

In order to raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause, the children of Maple Class will be completing a danceathon! This event will last from 9 o'clock until 3 o'clock. The expectation is that at least 16 out of the 31 children will be dancing at any one time.
