Story
Why on earth are we running the London Marathon?! Well two very good reasons, our Gran and St Barnabas Hospice.
In January our family found out that our head hauncho, Grandma Seddon, had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma- a cancer of the lymphatic system. At 84, she went on to tackle the rough and gruelling treatment that was chemotherapy.
Unfortunately after 3 cycles it was clear that the treatment was just too strong for our little lady and, after becoming very ill, the decision was made that she would be moved to a hospice for end of life care. This hospice was Lincoln's lovely St Barnabas hospice.
St Barnabas sits under the umbrella charity of Hospice UK, a charity that umbrellas over so many hospices across the country supporting both patients and relatives at a very difficult time.
The staff at St Barnabas were not only a source of care and comfort for Grandma Seddon, but for the rest of the family too! Always there to help answer questions, make a cup of tea or even a shoulder to cry on.
Because of the great work they do (some of which we've experienced first hand), we couldn't think of a more deserving charity to run the long and challenging 26.2 miles of the London Marathon for.
Our target is to raise £6,000 which will hopefully go a long way to making a huge difference to people who truly need it. Any donations small or large will be hugely appreciated and we'll love you forever!
Wish us luck (we're definitely going to need a lot of it!)
