Story

The TC11 Citizenship Team Invites You to ‘March for March
and Step Forward’

Is anyone else getting into bad habits, sitting at your computer screen all day and not going for a quick walk before or after work?

The walk to and from the tube or train station each morning
and evening seems like a distant memory after almost a year of working from home. As we enter the twelfth month since COVID-19 impacted our lives, studies show that most people are doing significantly less exercise in ‘Lockdown 3’. Not only is this bad for general fitness, it can also have a catastrophic impact on mental well-being.

To assist you in improving your fitness and general
well-being, and as the evenings start to get lighter (and hopefully the weather gets warmer), we encourage you to join us in our simple yet effective initiative – whilst raising money for charity.

March for March – the challenge:

Walk or run 10, 25 or 50 miles or cycle 20, 50 or 100 miles

in the month of March.

You can keep a record of your own progress or compete
against a colleague or within your team.

Remember, walking/running 50 miles is only just over 1.6 miles per day of running or walking, or just over 3.2 miles per day if you cycle 100 miles – it doesn’t sound so bad when you put it like that, does it?

It would be great if you could also let us know your
distances at the end of the month so that we can measure the total distance accumulated as a collective. Can we get from London to New York together? Distance To London From New York City is: 3462 miles.  It would be good if we could have a mileage update on a weekly basis to see how far we have made it in a week!
