Hello, most of you know that in July 2020 I received the amazing gift of a new heart. Since then I have done many things to keep my new heart healthy. After much preparation. Just four months after my heart transplant in November of 2020. I walked seven miles on my own, to honor my donor and my donor's family. It was not a big event. In fact I was the only participant. But it was my own private way to show appreciation for the gift of life, from someone who has never met me.  Eight months after my heart transplant in March 2021, I started exercising regularly everyday and posting videos. It has been my goal to inspire others, transplant or not, to get up and move and stay healthy. This last summer I walked or jogged everyday, and will continue to do so until there is ice on the ground in order to prepare myself to participate in the Transplant Games 2022 in San Diego! During winter I will do Home Fitness to stay prepared to participate. Each participant raises $750 to send Team Iowa to the transplant games. It is a team effort just as everything else that has to do with Donate Life! I am proud to be a volunteer for the Iowa donor Network and to push myself to compete and to raise funds for Team Iowa to participate in the Donate Life Transplant Games of America 2022! Another very exciting thing about participating in the Transplant Games of America is meeting people like me, who have had transplants, from all over the United States of America! I am so excited!

By competing in the Donate Life Transplant Games of America we honor our donors, our donor families and celebrate life. The team consists of athletes and support members who participate in various events at the Donate Life Transplant Games of America. Our athletes have received an organ, bone marrow, tissue or corneal transplant or are a living donor. We are always thrilled to welcome new team members and would love to have more people join the team for the next Transplant Games!
