Based in Andover, the Countess of Brecknock Hospice provides palliative and end of life specialist care to people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Outstanding care is given wherever it is needed, this can be within the inpatient unit, the day care facility or the patient’s home.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have crazily decided to set myself a challenge of skating 150km to raise crucial funds for the Countess of Brecknock Hospice in Andover.  The hospice provide palliative care and support for terminally ill patients, a crucial resource for many families, including ours, at a difficult time.

Why 150km? For those of you who don't know, I work for Stannah Stairlifts who this year are celebrating their 150th anniversary. They will match fund my total raised so any amount, however small, will all add up!

I'm not a professional skater, nor am I very fit so skating the equivalent of 3.5 marathons in one day is an impractical challenge! I therefore plan to do the distance over two organised events, the South Coast Roll at Goodwood (18 June) and the South East Roller Marathon at Dorney Lakes (30 July) and will then make up the rest of the distance in between where I can!  My lovely Dad has kindly loaned me one of his GPS watches, so that I can accurately track the distance I've travelled.

If you can spare even just a pound, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you ☺️
