Parks Tennis for Parkinson's · 23 June 2015

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Tuesday 23rd June 2015, I will be playing 12 hours of tennis across 12 south London boroughs against fellow Sky Sports presenter Barry Millns to raise money for Parkinson's research. We'll be playing in outdoor tennis courts from Eltham to Wimbledon and hope to encourage people to take up this sport. The day will be tough and gruesome, but it is something I am prepared to do to bring us one step closer to finding a cure for this awful condition.

I came to support Parkinson's UK after a friend of mine (Sarah Webb) of over 20 years was diagnosed with the condition while only in her 30s. Sarah co-founded the SLYPN (South London Younger Parkinson's Network) in conjunction with Parkinson's UK and I was inspired by her determination to fight the disease, to help others in the same plight and to raise funds to help find a cure. I want to help in any way I can with that on-going battle.

Please dig deep and help us raise lots of money. If you are free to come at 8pm on Tuesday 23rd June, please come along to Wimbledon Park to watch our final game and celebrate with us.

Thanks,

Marcus
