Mountain Rescue in memory of Margaret Linney

Richard Linney is raising money for Mountain Rescue England and Wales
In memory of Margaret Linney
Mountain rescue team members are on call every day, of every month, of every year. Whatever the time, day or night. Whatever the weather. They do it voluntarily. They do it without question. At no cost to the casualty. And it's thanks to your generosity, they can continue saving lives. So thank you.

Story

Margaret loved being outdoors and in the mountains. Margaret was born in rural Derbyshire where her Dad, Joe, introduced her to walking and mountaineering at an early age. As a child Margaret enjoyed holidays in the Lake District and in Scotland with her Mum and Dad and David.

Margaret met John through their love of the outdoors and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventures, climbing, mountaineering and walking in North Wales, Lake District, Yorkshire and Scotland - as well as in Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Norway and Iceland - often with their friends from the Oread Mountaineering Club or through Scouting.

Margaret and John introduced Richard and Helen to a love of outdoor adventure at an early age too - Richard was less than 6 months old when he was taken on an Oread climbing trip to Italy (camping)!

Although Mum thankfully never needed the services of Mountain Rescue, she always marvelled at the amazing work that they do in such challenging circumstances. As a volunteer organisation, funded purely by donation, Mountain Rescue is a fantastic organisation to support in memory of Margaret, who spent a lifetime enjoying the mountains.
