Throughout her life and her career, as a police officer, nursery nurse and nanny and throughout her various volunteer roles Margaret was a champion of and advocate for those who were vulnerable, especially children and young people.

She was a volunteer for Victim Support Scotland for over 23 years, specialising in supporting children and young people.
