Brighton Marathon 2010 · 18 April 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Dear friends,

I usually run marathons for myself but this time have decided to run the first Brighton Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society – a leading charity supporting care for people with this cruel disease and research into it. There is a very personal reason to run Brighton Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society – last August I lost my mum to dementia. After seeing her become someone I did not know. Still dream about her – and it would take some time for my mum to visit my dreams as she was not as she became. Hope that running will help. And that it is a way to raise valuable funds for research as well.
