Working next door to Saint Michael's for eight and a half years, I have been fully aware of what a special place it is.  Then a few years ago it became more personal.

After a four year battle with cancer, my mum passed away there, but for us it wasn't just a caring and loving environment where she died peacefully, it was much more. For her it was somewhere she could go, have some fun and regain a bit of independence by attending the day therapy sessions... and for other members of her family, it was somewhere they could later receive bereavement counselling.

And the cost... nothing.

Such an inspiring organisation has inspired me to challenge myself to raise funds by doing a tandem parachute jump.  I will be making the jump at Peterlee Parachute Centre near Durham in September, and will freefall from over 10,000 ft.

The funds raised I hope will help Saint Michael's provide the same care and support to others that we felt so lucky to receive.

It doesn't matter how big or small the donation, just what you can afford is brilliant.  And because I am paying for the jump myself, I can assure you that all proceeds will be going straight to Saint Michael's.
