Edinburgh & Lothians ACROSS Group has a core group of 5 members. Every second year we arrange a trip with ACROSS taking those with special care needs on pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Each trip we make to Lourdes costs around £16000; prior to each visit we aim to raise sufficient funds so our VIP's do not need to contribute to the cost and to subside cost to our volunteers.

We call those with special care needs VIP's, we take them to Lourdes on a unique vehicle called a Jumbulance which has ambulance status and is specially constructed to carry our VIP's.We are also accompanied by volunteers including 2 medical staff and a priest.

We aim to enable our VIP's to participate ina spiritual experience, while also enjoying holiday activities and the company of others in chnages surroundings.
