On 30/08/15 I will be doing a skydive to raise funds for a charity called Hemichat.  This is a fantastic parent led charity which supports families affected by Hemiplegia.

My son Lewis, was diagnosed with left hemiplegia when he was 21 months. Hemiplegia is a form of cerebral palsy.  When the consultant diagnosed him, I immediately became anxious with hundreds of questions.....would he get bullied, would people's perception of him change, how would this affect his future.....but since his diagnosis we have never looked back.  Lewis faces challenges on a daily basis but NEVER does he let this bother him.  He may not run as fast as other children or jump as high as other children but he never stops trying to be the best he can.  I love my son unconditionally, and am already so proud of the way he handles his disability.

Hemichat is a parent led charity which arrange funded events/meet ups helping unite families affected by Hemiplegia.  This can be anything from a Disney on ice trip to a coffee morning for the mums to have a chat and share thoughts and tips.

Seeing Lewis smile each and every day is a feeling I cannot explain and knowing that I could also be responsible for several other children smiling as the result of a funded event, gives me the motivation to complete this skydive.
