Story
In April 2010 my Mum Jean Anderson was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and died fifteen weeks later, at the age of 62. We made 2011 a fundraising year and raised over £5,000 for a combination of Cancer Research UK and Yorkshire Cancer Research with a whole range of fundraising events, including open-water swims, marathons, multi-day marathons, half-marathons, 5Ks, 10Ks, and a final Humber Bridge walk.
Though £5,000 was more than we ever dreamed of raising, and we were overwhelmed with the support and generosity we experienced, at the end of the year we committed ourselves to continuing to support different cancer charities into the future as part of a lasting legacy.
This year myself and my Dad are running the Great North Run on 16th September and are hoping to raise £250. Any support you could offer would be very much appreciated.
