Jail and Bail · 7 March 2014

St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity based in West Suffolk and Thetford, serving our community since 1984. As a charity, we believe everyone matters in life and death, and we strive for something better for those facing dying, death and grief.

Story

I am being arrested on Friday 7th March 2014 for 'Excessive Espresso Drinking'. I am told by a colleague that this is in contravention of the Legal Stimulants Act 1998, which limits caffeine ‘users’ to two espresso shots per day.  This is outrageous - I would be asleep by noon.

In total 12 business people from the Bury St Edmunds area will be cuffed, manhandled and bundled into a Police van by Special Constables.  We will then be taken to the Police Investigation Centre where each prisoner needs to raise a minimum of £500 in bail money to be released.

Please help me to get released and support this amazing local charity that provides FREE practical, medical and spiritual support to local people and their families living with life-threatening or terminal illnesses across West Suffolk. Every year they help more than 2,500 people and they need to raise £10,000 a day just to keep the charity operating.
