Ellie Sadler,  Steve Fowler and I are running the 2021 Vitality London Big Half Marathon to raise money for CICRA. 

We've had a friendly running competition for the last few months to try and encourage each other to get fit, with the member covering the least miles buying lunch for the others.

This year we decided to keep the competition going but for a good cause , enter CICRA and the London Half!

We are by no stretch of the imagination "runners" but will be following a gruelling 12 week training plan that has us running 3 times a week with ever increasing distances. 

My Son Kamran was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2018 aged 9. 

He was terribly ill and had lost a lot of weight.  Following his diagnosis he was admitted to hospital for 10 days and put on a liquid diet for 2 months. 

We have witnessed first hand the effects of this terrible disease and Kamran has 6 weekly visits to the John Radcliffe Hospital for infusions to manage his symptoms.

Kam has been an absolute trooper through all of this and endures countless blood tests and injections with no complaints.

Unfortunately at this time there is no cure for this debilitating disease.

CICRA lead research into better treatments,  support children & families, work with health professionals to improve care and give children a voice to increase public understanding of crohn's and colitis.

Any money raised will go directly to supporting this fantastic organisation.
