Story

In 2012 my wonderful late mother-in-law Joy, sadly passed away, and during her final months LOROS provided care for her and provided compassionate support to my wife and the family.  I have decided to help others by raising money for LOROS and the amazing staff they employ.

I have personally donated £2,000 towards my total so please be assured you’re not contributing to my midlife crisis jolly.

In September this year I will be flying to Tanzania is east Africa along with about 22 other trekkers to climb Kilamanjaro.  At 19,341ft, it is the highest freestanding mountain in the world and at its summit there is 49% less oxygen available to breathe than at sea-level.  The trek is therefore classed at an 'extreme' high altitude trek.  The summit is higher than the base camp of Everest and specialist insurance is required for the trek.

I'll be updating this page regularly with fund-raising events that I'm planning over the next 9 months.

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adultpatients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organfailure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
