It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am embarking on another challenge, this time to the peak of one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, Mt. Cotopaxi in Ecuador, which stands just under 20,000 feet!! The trek will take 10 days and covers 3 volcanoes, this starts on 12th Sept 2013.

As many of you know my mother passed away in June 2012, just 5 months after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer..she was only 71. I am doing this climb in my mothers memory and to raise money for a charity (all donations will be for the charity, the challenge is NOT funded via the donations this is self funded) that will help fund research into a treatment and hopefully one day a cure.

The survival rate for this cancer is extremely low, with only 3% surviving past five years, this rate has NOT changed in the LAST 40 YEARS!!!

I have now lost my brother and mother and many good friends to cancer, by raising money and awareness to this and many other cancers we can make a difference.

Although this charity is based in the UK the research for this terrible cancer is worldwide!

So please dig deep and donate as much as you can every penny counts!

You can follow my training progress and the actual progress of the trek on my facebook page

Many thanks again
