Story

Hi, my name is Mark and I am a runner from Blackburn, Lancashire.

Like everyone else in the country I was devastated to hear of the awful event that happened in Manchester a few weeks ago.

To support the amazing fundraising that has already taken place so far, I am planning to run my local parkrun route in Witton Park (Blackburn) on Saturday 24th June 2017.  I plan to do the route 22 times, to honour the 22 people who sadly lost their lives that night.

The parkrun route is 5km's and is set out over 2 laps, so overall I will run it 44 times.

I plan to start at 6am and hope to finish at around 9.30pm.

Although I plan to run it alone, it would be wonderful if anyone can join me along the way.  You can walk, jog or run with me, the more the merrier.

As it is on a Saturday, parkrun will be taking place as normal at 9am, so i'm sure i'll have a few supporters then.

The start/finish area is by the Pavilion cafe in the park, you can get refreshments here and there are also on site toilets.

The address is Witton Park, Preston Old Road, Blackburn, Lancs, BB2 2TP
