The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

I first ran the London Marathon in 2016. It went well.

So I wanted to do it again. But 2018 was the really hot year and I collapsed after 21miles due to dehydration, spending more time unconscious or on a drip in an ambulance than I had spent running.

2020 was meant to be the year I finished my business with the London Marathon. But Covid came along so it was cancelled, and instead I did the virtual Marathon around Cheltenham on the second wettest day of the year.

And now here we are in 2022 with me ready and raring to go, back on the streets of London.

As for the cause, I have an autistic teenager, but many people don't really know what autism is, or more correctly they don't know about the spectrum that people are on and how autism affects people in vastly different ways. The National Autistic Society wants to help inform people, so that those with autism aren't given a stereotype.
