Mark Backhouse died on Sunday 10th May 2020 from pneumonia and relapsed acute myeloid leukaemia. 

Due to the restrictions around Covid 19 we were unable to invite mourners to his funeral, which took place on the 20th May 2020. Usually we would have a collection in church, but in lieu of that I have created this fundraiser for anyone who would like to donate.

We were supported by York Against Cancer when visiting York Hospital in the early days of Mark’s diagnosis, with practical support and advice including children’s services. They provide a range of useful and much needed services to people with cancer and their families in York and beyond.
