Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My colleagues and I are going to be climbing Mt Snowdon in Snowdonia National Park (Wales). We will be aiming to drive there, reach the summit and drive home all on the same day. This is to raise money for 'Stroke Association'.
This charity is close to my heart for personal reasons and that I have recently been inspired by one of my learners who has shown not only me but her peers that she will not give up!
"I had a stroke at the age of 12 and it was caused by stress. I was paralysed from the waist down, my legs didn't work like they used to. I couldn't run, walk or jump. I started physio but then stopped going because I was missing too much time away from school. I was told by doctors and my physio that I would never walk again or have movement back in my legs. Five years down the line, I have movement in my legs and I can walk short distances. I am now on the Prince's Trust Team Programme and have just come back from a residential where I took part and completed all activities, including a 100ft abseil, rock climbing and caving. I don't let my disability stop me from doing things that I want to do. Don't give up."
We are all passionate about this charity and hope to raise some money and more importantly 'stroke awareness', to help others who have been affected by debilitating effects of a stroke.
