Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Unfortunately these days most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, some of us sadly have lost people we love because of it.
Breast cancer has effected us greatly as a family and although the outcome in our case has a positive happy ending we have still been through a difficult journey watching someone we love go through a mastectomy, ruthless rounds of chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy.
This time last year, the run up to Christmas was not the usual exciting time, it was full of worry and fret watching a loved one having chemotherapy, watching the agonising physical and emotional side effects of chemotherapy. She battled on as hard as she could but unfortunately ended up being admitted to hospital on Christmas Day as the chemotherapy took its grip. The next week was spent in hospital and praying for our wife/mum/granny win the fight over the chemo, only for her to then have to be subjected to another round of the poison only days later.
This year we would like to do something extra special and memorable to make up for last year!
Since being small children it has always been a family tradition to 'watch the dippers' so the whole family have been roped in to completing the Boxing Day Dip in the baltic North Sea. Im sure that will fill the aim of making it memorable - nobody is going to be able to forget doing that! What better way of showing our appreciation than to raise as much money as we can to help Breast Cancer Care continue to do the amazing work they do in helping and supporting everyone who has been affected with breast cancer. We would really appreciate your help and your time in donating as much as you can. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are super safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Just as a last note but probably the most important..... Ladies & gents, please check for lumps, please get them investigated quickly. The doctors and nurses in this area are amazing, and deserve all our thanks.
Let's do what we can for Breast Cancer Care, who provide amazing support and information to help sufferers of this disease get through it.
