Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

With no previous sailing experience, I will be taking part in 2015/16 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race on a 70ft boat,  namely Leg 4- Australia, on board of TEAM UNICEF boat!

It will challenge me in every way, I will not be a passenger and there will be no place to hide. My teammates and I will live, race and face the same challenges from Mother Nature as a pro racer.

Further south than any other leg of the entire race, I will face the Roaring Forties of the Southern Ocean and the unforgiving shores of the Nullarbor Plain, and Tasmanian Sea. After a short stopover in Sydney, it will be time for epic Rolex Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race and onwards towards Whitsundays.

I will spend almost 28 days at sea covering 5, 015m (=8, 071km).

Clipper says  ‘’this leg will test us mentally, physically and emotionally with constant changing conditions ,from brutal to mild, means there will be no relaxing in one of the most inhospitable parts of the planet.’’

When in Sydney, I will also cycle the length of the Sydney Hobart race  - 1300km on a stationary bike with the Opera House in the background.

After that, I will jump on the boat again and sail it!

I cannot wait!

Please help me raise as much money as I can. I am honoured to be racing on the very TEAM UNICEF boat.

Thank you

Marta
