Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A year ago my youngest son was diagnosed with a rare illness called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis.  It is so rare that only 1 in 200,000 children develop it.  That means there are less than 75 kids in the UK with this condition.

Because it is so rare there is very little research done into it.  No-one is even sure what kind of disease it is.  All we know is that it is very similar to Cancer, and kids die from it.

I'm running in the Judgement Day 12Km Obstacle Race in order to try to raise money for Histiocytosis research.

If you can donate anything at all I would be hugely grateful. Literally every single penny will help fight this devastating disease.

My son has spent the last 12 months having regular chemotherapy to try to treat the tumours he had in his skull and pelvis, he's got a permanent central line in the side of his chest (a Portacath if you're interested) and he's been in hospital more times in his short life than the rest of the family put together.  Though if I'm being completely honest, he's been very lucky indeed compared to a lot of children. He's still alive.

We're hoping that in April he'll be given the all clear, but we really don't know whether he'll be clear, or whether we'll have to do it all again.  No-one knows for sure.

So please help me help Histiocytosis UK to beat this horrible disease,

Thanks very much.
