Glasgow Straight Talk is a charity which aims to work with NGOs in developing nations on sustainable projects for the promotion of positive sexual and reproductive health messages. We also aim to highlight issues surrounding sexual health in developing nations to the general public.

Story

'm heading to Uganda with Glasgow Straight Talk in the summer to help prevent AIDS and other sexual diseases by educating children in schools. Straight Talk is the only organisation in Uganda that promotes this on a scientific, evidence based basis so it's a really good cause. In the spirit of Central Africa, I thought there was no better way to raise money than long distance running. I had an Oscar Pistorius joke in here but my mum forced me to take it out so I'll insert some tamer material about how it's probably in my genes to be good at running. I'm also planning to donate £20 of my own money if I run a slower time than my team mate for Uganda, Harriet.

Head here if you want to find out more about the charity: http://www.straighttalkfoundation.org/

Any money you donate isn't going to pay for my trip, it all goes directly towards sexual health education in schools in Uganda.

Make sure you click gift aid as it helps us out but doesn't cost you anything.
