Story
In memory of Martin Simmonds
In life Martin was passionate about the environment - long involved in politics and trade unionism, he had come to feel that green issues, particularly global warming, were the biggest challenge of all.
Martin's sad and untimely death was brought about by depression, an illness that he fought with his customary strength of character, but which, in the end defeated him. I believe that the diagnosis and treatment of depression - as much a killer as heart disease or cancer - needs to improve. I therefore also ask for donations to the mental health charity Mind. I think Martin would have approved - he always did like to take our (his) unwanted clutter to the Mind shop in East
Dulwich!
He gave regularly to Water Aid and I know would appreciate it if others donated to this worthwhile charity also.
