RGU RAG Chair - Off to a running start! · 1 September 2015

At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Well here I am - doing my biggest challenge yet.

I have just recently been elected as RAG Chair at RGU University. RAG stands for Raising and Giving and is the fundraising arm of the union that works to try and raise as much money for charity as possible! As RAG Chair it is my responsibility to organise event and activities for numerous charities throughout the year.

I feel that the best way to get this off the ground is to set myself an almighty challenge with the aim of raising the profile of RGU:RAG and more importantly to hopefully inspire some students and staff a like to come along and take part in some of our events this year.

As part of the Out Run September campaign, in joining Stevie Kearney I've set myself the hearty target of running 150 miles in one month, meaning I need to average around 5 miles a day, every day, come hell or high water.

I am an asthmatic and with this being my worse year to date, and my fitness levels rock bottom - this is indeed an almighty challenge for me! Add to that uni classes, Fresher's Week, the 20 hundred other things I have going on and it is quite possible I am setting myself up for a big fall. Undoubtably I will need your support!

So I shall be posting regular updates every day. Spur me on a throw me a £££ if you can.
