Hi Everyone, 

If you're interested in why I am shaving my head, please read on!

I'm currently completing my clinical pharmacy residency with BC Cancer. As a pharmacist, my main focus is the effectiveness and side effects of medical cancer treatment for our patients; but I also need to know about their daily lives, their goals, their mental health, their struggles, and their fears. 

In my role, I often hear from my patients about how difficult it is for them to get out of bed every day, how they can no longer play with their children or grandchildren, and how extreme their pain can become. I almost always feel like I can't do enough to help and I've been wondering what else I can contribute. 

As a result, I will be raising money for the BC Cancer Foundation for the next 2 weeks as a way to give back to the most resilient people I have ever interacted with. In addition, on December 11th I will be celebrating by shaving my head and donating my hair to Wigs for Kids to help children who lose their hair during their cancer treatment. 

I know that nearly everyone is dealing with financial hardships right now. However, if you are able to make a contribution I would truly appreciate it! If you aren't able to donate, I completely understand, and appreciate any moral support you could provide!
