We did it!
26.2 miles in 9 1/2 hours. We started at midnight and crossed the finishing line at 9.30am. Blood, sweat and tears. Never again (... hmm next year perhaps?)
I've got the t-shirt and the medal. It was an extraordinary, fabulous and humbling experience.
Thank you again for your generous sponsorship.
Check out the photos.

UPDATE
Last Friday Maggie and I had a final big practice. We walked across London following the Moonwalk route in glorious sunshine. The City was buzzing not only with post-election fever but the sight of two 60-something grandmas pounding the pavements, the parks and the embankment. After 6 hours we were spotted slumped against a bus stop near Hyde Park waiting for the number 94 to take us back to Chiswick. I did my final preparatory walk yesterday followed by a pampering pedicure. From now until midnight on Saturday I shall be in the chill zone. Celebrating my birthday (May 14) will have to wait until Sunday. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for the very generous sponsorship. Nearly £900! I am thrilled to be able to give this to Breast Cancer charities. The only slight disappointment for me is that I haven’t heard from Bruce Springsteen yet. But I’m sure a motivating message will pop into my inbox before kick off on Saturday night. There will be ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics on this page on Sunday & Monday. I’ll give a prize to the funniest caption. Many, many thanks, again. Over and out! Mary ‘Moonwalk’ Mortiboys
During the night of 15th May, whilst you are tucked up in bed, my friend Maggie Turner and I will be pounding the streets of London taking part in the London Moonwalk supporting Breast Cancer Charities. We will be walking 26.2 miles!
By the time you wake up on the morning of Sunday 16th May and are reaching for your cuppa and Sunday newspapers I will be hitting the wall with blistered feet and aching limbs.
I have been training hard since December and I am fitter now than when I when left school! I am determined to complete the marathon and I am keen to raise funds for Breast Cancer research and awareness. Please give generously if you can.
Love, Mary.
