Story
The staff on Mary Ward at Warwick Hospital have come together to give up sugar for the month of February.
The ward cares for patients suffering with respiratory problems and all the money raised from their fundraising will go towards patient entertainment systems such as portable DVD players or TVs.
This sugar free month means that as well as the obvious things such as cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets and desserts, sugar is also added to a huge amount of unexpected grocery items. Fizzy drinks and juices contain plenty of the sweet stuff, and the amount in most of the nation’s favourite alcoholic drinks is surprisingly high too.
Please help us to make our patients as comfortable as possible, every penny will make a difference and spur us on in this difficult challenge.
Thank you!
