Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and supporting Dan and I to raise money for the EY Foundation.
We think every young person in the UK, regardless of their background or circumstance, deserves to get the best start to their working life. By getting involved in the Ride we want to raise money for the EY Foundation, an independent UK charity that helps young people to be able to do this.
So what is Dan now doing? On Tuesday 5th May 2015, he is going to cycle on my behalf 65 miles on the London to Cambridge leg of the Big EY Ride, the first part of its amazing journey across the country.
The Ride will involve 100s of cyclists who will visit 12 towns and cities in the UK, from London to Inverness, covering a route of 845 miles, all in order to raise funds for The EY Foundation.
Dan is riding my road bike - Ruby - to get him through the 65miles.
Please help Dan and I hit our target, because young people need our help more than ever:
- they are nearly three times more likely to be unemployed than the rest of the population, the largest gap in more than 20 years
- their current unemployment rate is 14.4% vs 5.7% for the rest of the working population
- The number of people aged 16-24 who are not in full-time education or employment has increased by 8,000 in the last four months, with 498,000 in that age group now without a job (Boffey, Guardian 21 Feb 2015).
Thank you for your supporting us!
