Salam/Peace & Blessings,
My people, I am so happy to share this cause with you. Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to read this personal journey that I'm about to share, the reason I even felt like I could set myself this target is because I've been so blessed to see the miracles that can happen with the power and love in community, and that is why I chose to reach out to you guys.
Recently I visited my home country Syria after almost 9 years of being away from my loved ones and this motherland where I was born, the motherland where I spent my early years. A place that warmed my heart to the core, had changed immensely over the last decade.
Sadly, I returned to see it in a state where it had no longer been too familiar, it was destroyed, bruised, torn, distressed. I was heartbroken to see how it had left my people in pain, struggling financially, socially, mentally and even spiritually. Every aspect of their lives was being challenged all due to the political state that had left Syria labeled as an unresolved 'battlefield'. As a Syrian calling my home a 'battlefield' breaks me, ever since my return I have been thinking of new ways I can raise more awareness and help my people as much as I can.
After much research and careful consideration, I found Human Care For Syria to be the best charity, I witnessed the work they had been doing on the grounds of Syria, and I saw the joy it brought to my people's eyes. It gave them hope. When I tell you guys, my country is a strong country, no one can begin to understand how proud I am of my people, they have gone through almost a decade of pure war losing from 600,000 to One Million Syrian lives, yet they still push through. If that is not resilience I don't know what is! They still manage to praise the Lord, Smile and make the most of the very little that they have.
Guys when I went to Syria honestly even the people who were well off (in comparison to other Syrian citizens) struggle, having a couple of hours of electricity a day. I recently got to witness the Petrol crisis that they were facing, where taxi drivers were out of jobs. When I tell you I went into taxis and the stories they would tell me of their struggles of putting food on the table to feed their families brought tears to my eyes and theirs. I wish you all could have seen.
In my lifetime I got to witness the story of a 78-year-old man who told me he wishes he could retire and turn to commit his last years on this earth to God, but that would mean his family would go hungry, and he couldn't bear to see them starve. It's about humanity, this crisis isn't just at face value, it goes deeper, it has torn people inside. These are good, decent people they shouldn't have to pay the price of something they had no say in, we can't let this ruin them. It's not fair, and that is why I have chosen to fundraise through events, challenges, games, tournaments to go towards the project: Syria Emergency Appeal that is being administrated by Human Care for Syria.
The Project will work towards providing humanitarian assistance to the people that need it most. The 11.7 million in need of URGENT help and attention.
The funds that we raise will be spread to help provide medical supplies. Hospitals are overcrowded and there aren't enough doctors and supplies to accommodate the high demand of 1.7 million people in need of critical aid.
The funds will also be injected in the educational sector, as 40% of children have been out of schools since the beginning of the Civil War. We all know the fighting chance that education can give these children, so giving them this valuable tool is priceless.
Furthermore, the money will also be invested in providing essential food and water supplies as the shortage is very prevalent, and has left 2 million Syrians in a state of famine, lacking the basic nutrition to survive.
So please Everyone, What I want from you all is help.
Help by donating, getting involved in the volunteering team.
Everyone is welcome to help, I'm so 100% invested in this that I will leave my number here for whoever would like to join the Volunteer team and help us.
I don't want us to just Fundraise, although we are making a huge change with the money we raise, I also want us to gain something more from this, a COMMUNITY, everyone who shares human compassion and the desire to help will be a part of this team.
I want us All to gain a bond, a family bond out of this, one that can make us look back and always have hope in humanity.
It is still good, We are still good, But We are at our best when we stand Together!
SO PLEASE SHARE, DONATE, AND JOIN THE TEAM TO SAVE SYRIA!
