Bristol Volunteers for Development Abroad is a student-run charity encouraging students to make a difference in developing countries. We also work hard to raise awareness of international development within the UK. Currently we are running projects in Uganda, Nepal, and Malawi.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I have become involved in BVDA, a student-run charity which aims to send volunteers to developing countries to help non-government organizations create sustainable ways to enhance communities and lifestyles.

This summer, I will be volunteering with the with an NGO in Ilam, Nepal, in a team of 6

During our 7-week stay in the village, we will be fully integrating ourselves into community life. We will be building a women's refuge, and teaching the local women and children English and health. We will hopefully be making a difference to their lives.

This extremely worthwhile charity needs funding to keep itself running smoothly. Each volunteer needs to raise £700. Don't worry - EVERY penny of this goes straight to the NGO and does not go towards volunteers personal expenses. This money will go towards resources and running costs. The things they desperately need, we can easily provide.

I will be fundraising to reach this total! So far I've mainly been relying on bucket collections, but events in the pipeline include club nights, raffles and a marathon walk in Wales!

Each and every penny you can give will really, really help me reach my target of £700. I'll keep you updated on everything we're doing to reach our totals! Anything you can give will help this NGO give children and adults alike a better life.

Thank you!!
