Story

Hi all....

I’ve (perhaps stupidly) decided to take part in both the UK Ironman 70.3 and the full UK Ironman during summer 2010.  Seeing as I’m by no means a natural swimmer, cyclist or runner; the 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile cycle and marathon (all in one day) will certainly be the toughest challenge I’ve ever faced, and probably ever will face (hopefully)!

If I’m going to manage both these events then a serious amount of training is certainly going to be required!  So to make all the hard work especially worthwhile, I’ve decided to also raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  Their aim is, “support and improvement of life for people affected by cancer”.  My own family has been particularly affected by cancer so I’m especially grateful for the efforts of Marie Curie.  However a small percentage of donations will also go to The Childrens Hospice Association, The Leukaemia Research Fund, Life Education Centres and various other youth and sports programmes throughout the UK.

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Marie Curie and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please dig deep and make a donation today.

Kind Regards,

Ironman in training!
