Cotswold Way Challenge 2019 · 29 June 2019 to 30 June 2019 ·

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page where I'm planning to raise £500 in support for Prostate Cancer UK by completing the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge.

Both my dad and grandad have suffered with prostate cancer and I'm doing this walk to raise awareness of this disease and to give something back in the hope that other families won't have to suffer. Thankfully my dads cancer was caught early and through fantastic care he's well in to recovery.

Each year 10,000 men die as a result of prostate cancer, yet most men are unaware of the disease, tests can be unreliable and research is badly underfunded and this needs to change.

I do a lot of walking (and some running too!) but this will be the furthest and biggest challenge I have ever taken on. On Sunday 30th June 2019 I'll be walking 50km from Wotton-Under-Edge to Cheltenham. This is a really hilly route along the Cotswold Way, with nearly 1,500m of ascent, so it will really test my fitness, stamina and ability!! If you'd like to know more about the event take a look here: https://www.cotswoldwaychallenge.com

Your donation will make a real difference and will keep me focused during training and on the day of the event. So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you

Matt
