We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hello!

Right. I decided to do this because my twin brother is doing this 10k, and we're insanely competitive, so I had to to do it as well. Now I've started running, I'm hugely surprised to find I'm really enjoying it, so maybe I won't die running 10k after all.

I chose Cancer Research as a cause when I signed up for this run last year, as a number of friends and family have had cancer, and fortunately recovered, in the last few years.

However, since then one of my old colleagues from Channel 4 Education, Carys Morgan, was diagnosed with a rare and virulent cancer in January and died last month at the age of only 28. I know some of you will have worked with Carys and will know what an incredible talent and amazing person she was, so you'll understand how tragic it was to lose her at such a young age.

This has made me even more determined to raise as much as possible for Cancer Research, and to run the 10k in memory of Carys. Its incredible how many people now recover from cancer due to the great work Cancer Research do, but they still have a long way to go, so please help me raise money to support their excellent work

So please, make the cold, wet morning runs worth it (although, living in Brighton, some of the sunny runs along the beach are just *amazing*) and sponsor me. My twin brother has been running longer than me, so will probably beat me, so at least I'll have the warm glow of knowing I've raised a lot of money for charity. We'll call that a moral victory then, shall we?

Gift Aid it!

If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you. If you're a coffee chain, stand up comedian, or member of Take That and are avoiding tax, just double your contribution. We won't tell anyone.

If I raise over £1000, I promise not to post pictures of my blistered feet on Instagram.

Thanks!

Matt
