We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Around 150,000 people have a stroke each year in the UK, and my sister's quite often one of them. The Stroke Association provides support for those people and carries out research towards prevention.

They're the charity for this year's otherwise pointless adventure. I'll be attempting to walk the Pennine Way from Edale, Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm, Scotland in two weeks, as opposed to the usual 3 or 4. That's the equivalent of walking a marathon distance every day over hills and moors, carrying everything I'll need on my back.

It'll be in May or June, depending on the weather conditions, so please support me. Or even better, join me! Just for a few hours, days, or all the way.

Provisional plan:

19th May: -> Crowden, Derbyshire (17 miles, camping)
20th May: -> Standedge, West Yorkshire (12 miles, inn)
21st May: -> Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire (16 miles, camping)
22nd May: -> Cowling, North Yorkshire (18 miles, barn)
23rd May: -> Airton, North Yorkshire (17 miles, Quaker hostel)
24th May: -> Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire (19 miles, camping)
25th May: -> Hardraw, North Yorkshire (15 miles, inn)
26th May: -> Tan Hill, North Yorkshire (17 miles, inn)
27th May: -> Lunedale, County Durham (20 miles, camping)
28th May: -> Dufton, Cumbria (18 miles, camping)
29th May: -> Slaggyford, Northumberland (27 miles, ?)
30th May: -> Once Brewed, Northumberland (20 miles, camping)
31st May: -> Bellingham, Northunberland (15 miles, camping or bunkhouse)
1st June: -> Byrness, Northumberland (15 miles, camping)
2nd June: -> Kirk Yetholm, Scotland (28 miles)
