We raise awareness about FASD to prevent alcohol related brain damage.

Story

So, many of you will know that I do cycling and running and recently did some triathlons blah, blah. You won't know that I am very scared of these and not comfortable at all. I've never done an event in the sea and I can't swim front crawl. But I do like to see what I can do....

You also know my change of lifestyle and so I want to support these charities. Alcohol is a massively misunderstood substance and that for me is where virtually all the problems come from. Adults need support - it is not remotely funny. Kids from FAS - foetal alcohol syndrome never had a choice but then their parents barely had a choice either. So I am raising money for NOFAS and also Drinkaware, who are a wonderful group. They have all the information that you need and are directly and indirectly supporting every family in the UK.

Firstly, I am cycling Land's End - John O'Groats - LEJOG - the length of Britain and that is 1600km. Then I am doing the Half Ironman in Weymouth in September - 1900m swim, 90km bike ride and then finish off with a wee Half Marathon......

To be even half ready for this I have this year, every week, swum 1000m, cycled 100km and run 10km. That has taken a lot of support from my wonderful wife, Louise - and no doubt I've annoyed my work colleagues as well, along the way.

I'll be giving some updates as we go - possibly sharing the 'journey' to John O'Groats. Please give generously and share this with your friends and family etc.

Thanks.
