I have decided to run this race to support my great friend John Hambly. John was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 15 years ago when he was in his late 30s. It is a terrible disease which not only affects his life so significantly but also the lives of Marion his wife and their four daughters. John though has dedicated much of the last 10 years or so of his life to helping others with MS by driving the growth and development of a charity dedicated to supporting MS sufferers. The Samson Centre is a resource and therapy centre based in Guildford in Surrey which provides resource, therapy and emotional and practical help to MS sufferers with the aim of improving the overall quality of their lives. From humble beginnings in 2003, the centre has grown to include a gym and oxygen chambers as well as social areas for people to meet.

My main aim is to try and raise as much money as possible for the Samson Centre. My secondary aim is to avoid humiliation in the race at the hands of my 17 year old son!
