Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On Sunday April 24th, I will be running the London Marathon; my first attempt at the distance. Inspired by a guy running last year's London Marathon in 2 hours 30 minutes dressed as Spider-Man, and in the process setting a Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon dressed as a superhero, I have decided to try and break that record. Therefore, I will be looking to complete the race in under 2 hours 30 minutes whilst dressed as Wonder Woman. In order to get the record verified, I am required to submit photographs of the record attempt to Guinness World Records. As such, if anyone is planning on watching the marathon on Sunday, it would be great if you could take a photo of me at the point(s) at which you're spectating. So that you know when to expect me, I will be looking to complete the marathon in somewhere between 2 hours 25 minutes and 2 hours 30 minutes (likely closer to 2 hours 30 minutes) running an even paced race. Please email any photographs you get of me to: matthewgunby1988@yahoo.co.uk with details of where you took the photo. Thanks!!

More importantly, I am doing the marathon in memory of my Grandmother who passed away recently following a long battle with Alzheimer's. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
