I’m Matthew, my wife is Laura and our precious baby girl Annabelle was born sleeping at 36 weeks and 3 days on the 29th July 2021 due to medical negligence.

Held in our Hearts has provided Laura and I with invaluable support in the days, weeks and months following the loss of our daughter Annabelle which included the unthinkable for a parent, arranging her funeral. 

To raise awareness of baby loss and support the charity Held in our Hearts, I have set myself an ambitious target of running 36.3 miles on her 1st birthday.

To prepare for the 36.3 mile run I have the following events planned;

Scottish 10K on 19th September 2021, ✅

Edinburgh Men’s 10K on the 24th October 2021.  ✅

2022 Kilomathon Scotland on the 10th April ✅

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10K on Saturday 28th May 2022 ✅

The full Edinburgh marathon on Sunday 29th May ✅

Annabelle’s run 36.3 miles ✅

There will likely be many more trail runs, 10K’s and half marathon events added along the way. 

My wish is that no other parent will have to experience the pain that we have endured and I hope that I will be able to make a difference to others on behalf of my precious daughter Annabelle.
