Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR) is an international (but little publicised) non-for-profit organisation conducting clinical research, curative treatments and palliative care. Their work focuses on supporting children with cancer in the developing world, especially in Africa.
Matthew is aiming to raise £5,000 to support INCTR Challenge Fund’s work.
In May 2012 Matthew was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer. A previous sponsored walk in 2009 raised £2,200 for INCTR and another charity.
Matthew is doing a Sponsored Walk around Malham in the Yorkshire Dales on Saturday 11 May. The distance is 12 miles: ‘nowt’ in the old days but quite a challenge now!!
Charlie (see picture) is hoping to come along too…
And what can your money achieve?
£150 will pay for chemotherapy treatment for a child with cancer in Africa.
70% of all cancer deaths occur in low- and medium-income countries. We aren’t all blessed with an NHS.
And if you fancy it, please join me on the day for a wee expedition in the Dales..
