Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving 'Wedding Gift' page!
With the help & generosity of our wedding guests, we are hoping to support CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland), and specifically raise the funding for a new multi-sensory room at Rachel House Hospice in Fife. "Everyone at CHAS is hugely grateful to Jo and Matthew for choosing to ask you, their wedding guests, to support the refurbishment of the Snozelen at Rachel House, our children’s hospice in Kinross. This very special room is loved by all children who visit the house. It will be fantastic to see the room refurbished and with the latest equipment, which will enable many more life-limited children to enjoy special times and create precious memories. Thank you all for your support and may we wish Jo and Matthew many happy years together".
Kerry Jackson, Relationship Manager, CHAS."As a result of our Snoezelen being so well used over the years it is in desperate need of a refit.... It would be wonderful to redesign the room to include a bubble wall, and a ‘ladder of lights’ - this is a sound-activated light box that is attached to the wall with 15 brightly coloured runs of lights giving a spectacular visual effect while encouraging vocalisation. A new sound system which, if connected to coloured spotlights, would create beams of light that would dance about the room in time with the music. The introduction of textured surfaces would encourage children to reach out and explore the environment around them. With new sound effect machines and the projection of images within the Snoezelen, we can transform the room to become a magical place - anything from an enchanted forest to a tropical island or even to outer space....."Alison Blair, Activities Coordinator, CHAS.
