Story
Matt Ward was an inspirational teacher, a friend and a good man.
He worked at Thomas Deacon Academy, aswell as being a great teacher he got heavily involved in after school clubs and especially the Duke of Edinburgh award. He regulary gave up his free time for his students which was shown in 2010 when he took 14 year 12 students to Morocco for 2 weeks over Easter to complete their Gold Duke of Edinburgh.
Matt was also a keen runner and in 2010 completed the Great Eastern Run, however shortly unexpectantly after completing the half marathon he sadly died leaving his wife and children behind.
8 year 13 at the Thomas Deacon Academy who went with Matt to Morocco want to remember him and have decided that a coast to coast bike ride is a fitting way of doing so.
In July we are to complete a 150 mile coast to coast bike ride in just 3 days and along the way hope to raise money for the Thomas Deacon Academy, Duke of Edinburgh's award and also for the British Heart Foundation.
