Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi my name is Mathew Watterson, son of Heart Surgeon extraordinaire Kevin Watterson.  Over the years I’ve often visited the Children’s Heart Unit in Leeds, whilst there I’ve seen the dedication of nurses and doctors to their patients.  The strong bonds they form with the parents and families of affected children.  And therefore I was deeply distraught at the idea that the Unit could be closed!

Therefore I’ve decided to run a marathon a month finishing with London 2013 to support my father’s wonderful charity “Children’s Heart Surgery Fund”.  I’ll be raising as much money as possible towards ''The Fighting Fund'', this money will be restricted towards a potential legal challenge & any surplus monies raised will go straight to the fund.

This is an extremely tough challenge which I’ll only be able to complete with your kind support.  So please dig deep and help me achieve my goal for a very worthwhile cause.

Be a part in the fight to save the Leeds Children’s Heart Unit.

Thanks!
