Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In January, along with my brother and some other friends, we will be trekking to the summit of Kilimanjaro over 7 days.
I am sure it's going to be tough, particularly dealing with the great unknown of altitude sickness. Still, I am really excited to be doing it and I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise some funds for a well deserving charity.
The Amelia-Mae Foundation is an entirely voluntary, registered charity – no member receives any form of payment for his or her efforts. They were founded in Sep 13 after a brave 2-year-old girl, Amelia-Mae Davies, lost her battle with Neuroblastoma. Their mission is to support other families affected by this condition, whilst publicly raising awareness.
Neuroblastoma is a cancer that usually starts in the child’s abdomen and often spreads quickly and aggressively. The cause of the disease is still unknown and the treatment is both intensive and relentless for the child and parents. The charity offers wider support that the NHS cannot and as such, has proven to be of great assistance to those suffering from the condition.
The Money raised from this event will be used to facilitate and enhance their mission. This means you’re creating smiles and memories by donating, whilst raising awareness of this truly horrible condition.'
